🥋 The Weekly Warrior #40 — “Tired Does Not Exist” – Vero Beach Martial Arts

At The House of Warriors in Vero Beach, we often repeat a phrase in class:
“Are you tired?”“No, sir!”“Why?”“Because tired does not exist!”
It’s one of our mantras — not because we deny physical exhaustion, but because we refuse to let fatigue define us. You see, tired is a mindset. When we accept that we are “tired,” what we’re really saying is, I’m done trying. But the martial artist’s way teaches us to dig deeper, to push past comfort and discover what lies beyond our limits.
This past weekend was a perfect example. It was, without question, our busiest weekend ever.
We had two Trunk-or-Treat events on Saturday — one at Osceola Magnet School and another at Imagine South Vero. Most people would have chosen one and called it a day. But we saw an opportunity to grow — to train two teams, give our members new leadership roles, and expand our reach into the community.
Was it exhausting? Absolutely. I was up at 5:00 a.m. three days in a row, loading gear, setting up tents, coordinating volunteers, and then teaching classes afterward. On Sunday, we hosted a birthday party for one of our students — because when we make a promise, we keep it.
But was I tired? No.Because tired does not exist.

When you’re driven by purpose — by your students, your team, your community — you find another level of energy inside you. The warrior spirit doesn’t fade when your body is sore; it shines brighter because of it.
By the end of the weekend, not only did we reach new families and future students, but I also witnessed our senior students stepping up as true leaders. They handled demos, set up stations, talked to parents, and embodied everything we’ve worked so hard to build here in Vero Beach.
The warrior’s spirit is alive and well. When we refuse to accept “tired,” we discover what we’re truly capable of.And that’s when growth happens — on the mat, in life, and within our hearts.
