A Tradition Reborn, A New Experience Shared with Vero Beach martial arts
Yesterday, our House of Warriors Demo Team marched in our very first Vero Beach Christmas Parade on Ocean Drive — and it was nothing short of unforgettable.
For me, it brought back memories from my early days in Tang Soo Do, when participating in parades was an important part of our tradition. We marched with pride, with discipline, and with a sense of unity that only martial arts can truly create.
Before moving to Vero Beach, the last parade I ever marched in was a Veteran’s Day Parade in Miami — right before COVID changed everything.
In the years that followed, parades were rare, and in Miami, opportunities were limited. So in 2022, when I made the decision to move here and bring House of Warriors with me, I knew it would take time to build connections, meet new families, and find our place in the community.
But when the opportunity came to join the Vero Beach Christmas Parade, I took it immediately.
And I’m grateful I did.

⭐ A Demo Team With Real Heart
Over the last several months, our team has worked incredibly hard — not just in class, but at events, demonstrations, and special sessions. As our students grew in skill and discipline, something became clear:
It was time to bring back something special.
In Tang Soo Do, parade demos were an art of their own.Not just punching and kicking — but marching, timing, discipline, and synchronization.
So we trained:
marching in place
forward movement
turning without losing structure
performing techniques with speed and power
finishing routines fast enough not to slow the parade behind us
This wasn’t just performance training. It was team training.

🎄 A New Experience for Today’s Kids
While parade demos were a big part of my past, today’s kids rarely get to experience anything like it. Most have never trained outdoors like this, never performed while moving, and never felt the energy of a crowd along the parade route.
Giving them that experience felt important. It’s more than martial arts —it’s tradition. It’s community. It’s unity.
And seeing their faces — focused, powerful, proud — marching down Ocean Drive…It confirmed that we brought something meaningful back.
This parade wasn’t just an event. It was a moment of growth.A moment of bonding.A moment they will remember for years.
Just like I do.
